Berry & Brie Stuffed Jalapeño “Candy Poppers”

These Berry & Brie Stuffed Jalapeño “Candy Poppers” are the ultimate sweet-and-spicy appetizer. Fresh jalapeños become the perfect edible vessels for creamy, melty brie and glossy berry jam, creating a bite-sized explosion of flavor that feels elegant yet playful.

The magic is in the contrast. The gentle heat of the jalapeño balances the rich, buttery brie, while the berry jam melts into a sticky, candy-like topping. A light drizzle of honey enhances caramelization in the oven, creating glossy, jewel-toned bites that look as beautiful as they taste.

Baking softens the peppers just enough while allowing the brie to melt into a luscious center. A quick finish under the broiler creates that irresistible caramelized top layer, making each popper slightly crisp, creamy, and sweet all at once.

Serve these warm as a standout appetizer for parties, holiday gatherings, or wine nights. They pair beautifully with sparkling wine, crisp whites, or a light red.

Servings: 12 poppers
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 25–28 minutes

Ingredients :

  • 6 jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/4 cup berry jam (blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, or mixed)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)
  • Optional garnish: crushed pistachios, flaky salt, lemon zest, fresh thyme

Instructions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds and membranes for controlled heat.
  3. Place a cube of brie inside each jalapeño half.
  4. Spoon 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of berry jam over the brie.
  5. Lightly drizzle with honey if using.
  6. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the brie is melted and bubbly and the jalapeños are tender.
  7. For extra caramelization, broil for 1 to 2 minutes until the jam forms a glossy, candy-like top. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  8. Garnish with pistachios, thyme, lemon zest, or flaky salt before serving.

Variations :

  • Use goat cheese for a tangier filling.
  • Add finely chopped bacon for a smoky-sweet twist.
  • Swap jam for hot pepper jelly for an extra spicy-sweet profile.

Tips :

  • Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation.
  • Do not overfill with jam to prevent overflow during baking.
  • Serve immediately while the brie is molten and the topping is glossy for the best texture and presentation.
