Instructions:
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, until the beef is well coated and slightly thickened.
- Warm the tortillas until soft and pliable.
- Assemble each burrito: spoon seasoned beef in the center and top with cheddar, onion, tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream.
- Add nacho cheese or tortilla strips if you want extra crunch.
- Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a burrito.
- Toast each burrito in a dry skillet for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and warm.
Variations
- Add cooked rice for a heartier burrito.
- Swap cheddar for a melty mix like Monterey Jack or Colby Jack.
- Add sautéed peppers or jalapeños for a spicy kick.
- Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
Tips
- Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 20–30 seconds for the perfect rollable texture.
- Don’t overfill — it makes rolling difficult and can cause tearing.
- Press gently with a spatula while toasting for an evenly crisp finish.
- Serve with extra sour cream or hot sauce for dipping.
