Meaty Texas Trash Dip

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the taco seasoning along with a splash of water, then simmer for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the refried beans, softened cream cheese, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheese. Mix until smooth and fully blended.
  4. Spread the creamy bean mixture evenly into a baking dish.
  5. Spoon the seasoned beef over the top in an even layer.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cup of shredded cheese over the beef.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and fully melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with chopped green onions and tomatoes or pico de gallo.
  9. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
