Loaded Bacon Cheeseburger Onion Rings

Instructions:

  1. Slice a large onion into thick rings and separate them.
  2. Dip each onion ring into flour, then egg, then panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  3. Fry the breaded rings in hot oil (350°F / 175°C) for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Cook ground beef and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Stack the onion rings on a plate, filling each layer with seasoned beef, crispy bacon, and cheese.
  6. Drizzle extra cheese sauce over the top and serve immediately.

Variations

  • Add sliced jalapeños or pickles between layers for a spicy or tangy kick.
  • Swap cheddar for pepper jack to bring extra heat.
  • Mix caramelized onions into the beef for deeper flavor.
  • Use seasoned breadcrumbs for added spice.
  • Top with a drizzle of burger sauce or smoky barbecue sauce.

Tips

  • Fry the onion rings in batches so they crisp evenly.
  • Keep the beef warm while assembling so the cheese melts beautifully.
  • Double-coat the rings (repeat flour → egg → breadcrumbs) for extra crunch.
  • Serve immediately—the texture is best when piping hot.
  • For a lighter version, air fry the onion rings at 390°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
