Jalapeño Popper Twists

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth and well combined.
  3. Lightly roll out the puff pastry and cut into long, even strips.
  4. Spread a thin layer of the cheese mixture down the center of each strip.
  5. Arrange jalapeño slices over the filling and sprinkle with bacon bits if using.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling or twist each strip tightly, pressing edges gently to seal.
  7. Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet and brush lightly with beaten egg.
  8. Sprinkle with Parmesan or seasoning if desired.
  9. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes, until puffed, golden brown, and bubbling.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Variations :

  • Substitute pepper jack for extra heat.
  • Add finely chopped green onions for fresh flavor.
  • Drizzle with hot honey after baking for a sweet-spicy finish.

Tips :

  • Keep puff pastry cold until ready to use for the best rise and flakiness.
  • Do not overfill, or the cheese may leak during baking.
  • For extra crunch and a golden crust, sprinkle a little shredded cheese on top before baking.
