Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with shredded cheddar and set aside.
- Season the beef patties with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the patties in a skillet until browned and juicy. Set aside.

- Spread the cream cheese mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.
- Layer caramelized onions and roasted jalapeño slices on the bottom slices.
- Add the cooked beef patty on top of the onions and jalapeños.
- Drizzle with BBQ sauce for sweet heat.
- Place the top piece of toast on each sandwich, press lightly, and warm briefly in the skillet to melt everything together.
- Slice and serve hot.
Variations
- Add a slice of pepper jack or cheddar directly on the patty for extra melt.
- Swap roasted jalapeños for pickled jalapeños for brighter acidity.
- Use sourdough or rye bread for a different texture and flavor.
- Add crispy bacon for extra smokiness and crunch.
- Spread a thin layer of ranch or chipotle mayo on the bread before assembling.
Tips
- Roasting jalapeños ahead of time deepens their flavor and softens their heat.
- Toast the bread slowly over medium heat so it crisps without burning.
- Let the patty rest briefly before assembling to lock in juices.
- Press the assembled patty melt lightly in the skillet to help the cheeses melt evenly.
- For maximum richness, butter both sides of the bread before toasting.
