Firecracker Frog Eggs

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sausage, shredded cheddar, cream cheese, biscuit mix, diced jalapeños, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are fully incorporated into a thick mixture.
  4. Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls using your hands or a scoop.
  5. Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  6. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Variations

  • Extra Firecracker Heat: Add cayenne pepper or diced serrano peppers for a stronger kick.
  • Cheese Blend: Use pepper jack or a Mexican cheese blend for added flavor.
  • Bacon Boost: Mix in crumbled bacon for extra smokiness.
  • Milder Version: Use mild sausage and reduce jalapeños for a less spicy option.

Tips

  • Lightly oil your hands when rolling to prevent sticking.
  • Avoid overmixing to keep the texture tender.
  • Bake on a wire rack for a crispier finish and less grease.
  • Serve warm with spicy ranch, sriracha mayo, or queso dip for maximum flavor.
