Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.
- Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, leaving one side intact to create a hinge. Place the rolls open on the baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt.
- Brush the inside of each roll generously with the garlic butter mixture.
- Layer the ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone slices, and shredded mozzarella evenly inside each roll.
- Lightly brush the tops of the rolls with olive oil to encourage crisping.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the bread is crisp and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and top with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, and banana peppers if using.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Variations :
- Add thinly sliced red onion or roasted red peppers for extra flavor.
- Spread a thin layer of pesto or tapenade inside the rolls before adding the meats.
- Substitute smoked provolone for a deeper, more robust taste.
- Use turkey or mortadella to customize the meat combination.
Tips :
- Use fresh bakery-style hoagie rolls for the best structure and texture.
- Do not overfill the sandwiches to prevent ingredients from spilling during baking.
- Broil for the final 1 to 2 minutes for an extra golden, crispy top.
- Wrap in foil for a softer texture, or leave uncovered for maximum crunch.
