Cilantro Jalapeño Dip

Instructions:

  1. Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, salt, black pepper, and cumin to a blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño if desired.
  4. Transfer the dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Stir well before serving. Garnish with sliced jalapeños or fresh cilantro if desired.

Variations

  • Extra Spicy: Add an additional jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Avocado Cilantro Dip: Blend in one ripe avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Greek Yogurt Version: Replace half or all of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • Garlic Lover’s Dip: Add an extra clove of garlic for a bolder flavor.

Tips

  • For a thinner, sauce-like consistency, blend in a small amount of milk or water until desired texture is reached.
  • This dip tastes even better after a few hours in the refrigerator, making it ideal for preparing ahead.
  • Use fresh lime juice rather than bottled for the brightest flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
