Instructions:
- Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, salt, black pepper, and cumin to a blender or food processor.
- Blend until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño if desired.
- Transfer the dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Stir well before serving. Garnish with sliced jalapeños or fresh cilantro if desired.
Variations
- Extra Spicy: Add an additional jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Avocado Cilantro Dip: Blend in one ripe avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
- Greek Yogurt Version: Replace half or all of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
- Garlic Lover’s Dip: Add an extra clove of garlic for a bolder flavor.
Tips
- For a thinner, sauce-like consistency, blend in a small amount of milk or water until desired texture is reached.
- This dip tastes even better after a few hours in the refrigerator, making it ideal for preparing ahead.
- Use fresh lime juice rather than bottled for the brightest flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
