Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Brush both sides of each tortilla with melted butter, then sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Cut the tortillas into triangles, strips, or festive holiday shapes.
- Arrange the pieces on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until crisp and lightly golden.
- Allow the crisps to cool completely; they will continue to firm up as they cool.
Variations
- Use puff pastry for a flakier, richer result.
- Add a pinch of cardamom for a fragrant twist.
- Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar once cooled for a snowy finish.
- Mix a little cocoa powder into the sugar blend for chocolate-cinnamon crisps.
Tips
- Keep a close eye near the end of baking—thin crisps can brown quickly.
- For extra crunch, bake an additional 1–2 minutes, but avoid overbrowning.
- Store in an airtight container to preserve crispness.
- Serve with caramel, Nutella, or cream cheese frosting for an indulgent dipping experience.
