Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Stuff each jalapeño half with a cube of brie cheese, ensuring it fills the cavity evenly.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeño tightly with a slice of bacon and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the jalapeños are tender.
- While the jalapeños bake, prepare the berry sauce by combining berries, honey (or maple syrup), lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan.
- Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries soften and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove the jalapeños from the oven and let them cool briefly.
- Spoon the warm berry sauce over each piece just before serving.
- Finish with a light sprinkle of cracked black pepper if desired and serve immediately.
Variations
- Spicy-Sweet Upgrade: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the berry sauce for extra heat.
- Nutty Crunch: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the top for added texture.
- Goat Cheese Swap: Replace brie with goat cheese for a tangier flavor profile.
- Air Fryer Method: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes until bacon is crisp.
Tips
- Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation from the oils.
- Choose thick-cut bacon for better texture and a more substantial bite.
- Do not overfill with brie, as it will melt and can overflow during baking.
- Serve immediately while the cheese is soft and the contrast of hot and cool elements is at its best.
