Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, biscuit mix, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated into a thick, dough-like mixture.
- Roll the mixture into small, bite-sized balls using your hands or a scoop.
- Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
Variations
- Extra Spicy Bites: Add more jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne for additional heat.
- Maple Sausage Twist: Use maple-flavored sausage for a sweet-savory balance.
- Pepper Jack Upgrade: Swap cheddar for pepper jack cheese for a spicier, melty finish.
- Herb Boost: Add chopped parsley or green onions for freshness and color.
Tips
- Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of cheese and seasoning in every bite.
- If the mixture feels too sticky, lightly oil your hands when rolling the balls.
- Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to allow even browning.
- Serve warm with dips like spicy ranch, honey mustard, or a smoky BBQ sauce for extra flavor.
