Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cut each biscuit into quarters and scatter them evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth, then pour them over the biscuit pieces.
- Sprinkle all of the cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are fully cooked and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let the casserole cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
Variations
- Add cooked sausage or bacon for a heartier version.
- Use pepper jack or Colby Jack cheese for a different flavor profile.
- Mix in diced green chilies or sautéed onions for added depth.
- Substitute buttermilk or flaky biscuits for a different texture.
Tips
- Add a dash of black pepper or sprinkle with chives for a flavor boost without adding extra ingredients.
- If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil during the last few minutes of baking.
- Ensure the center is set before removing from the oven for clean, even slices.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes so the eggs can firm up before cutting.
